Already conceded quietness and low heat/power consumption, my only point related to durability which I do not have any studies to indicate these pumps last any longer than others. If there is a study, awesome, if not, any suggestions of more than average durability would indeed be a myth or at least a presumption.

Hate to go down a rabbit hole with you on this as we mostly agree. The pumps are really good at what they are supposed to do, provided they continue doing it. Personally, I have not used a pump that I would consider better for the task of making bubbles in my skimmer....
