Tank is still going strong, although aiptasia is back full force, and I've had some losses due to coral warfare.
Most of my large SPS colonies have been sold off over the past year, I only have 3 large SPS colonies in the tank now, but I still have frags from most of what I sold.
A few months back I had a power outage for half a day and couldn't get my generator started, during which my colorado sunbust nem decided to walk around the frag tank a little bit. Since it was dark outside with no power I didn't notice the nem walking around and tragically I lost the large crayola meltdown chalice I was babysitting for my brother in the carnage. I think losing that big chalice bummed me out more than my brother; when he gave it to me it was emaciated, about 3 or 4 inches across and had turned almost completely green, but in just a few months in my tank it easily doubled in size and got every bit of the colors back plus some. I had one small frag of the chalice that wasn't touched by the nem and is now grown to about 2" one direction and 3" the other, and another frag of the chalice that did get stung up was down to just one polyp on an exposed skeleton and it has come all the way back to cover up the whole frag plug. I also lost 5 or 6 SPS frags in the ordeal that I only had one frag of, and most of them were expensive ones of course. But to look on the bright side, the next day the nem worked its way back to where it was originally, and then I think just a week or two later it split, so now I have two CSBs I have to worry about walking around, lol.
As for dealing with the aiptasia... I've been selling off my large SPS colonies in preparation for a move since I knew the landlord was putting the house we rent up for sale. I was going to get a jar of berghia again to try and knock them back down a couple months ago, but I decided to wait until I figured out when and where we were going to move to. The idea with the delay was that hopefully things would work themselves out into a timeline where I could set up another tank at the new house and move my wrasses over first, so then I could get berghia and not have to worry about them all getting eaten.
And this brings us to the most exciting part of this little update; although it took 8 months of hard searching, and going through a few bad realtors, at the beginning of this month my wife and I had our offer accepted on a house, closing is scheduled for 7/31! This is our first time buying a house and the stress of the whole process has been kind of overwhelming, specifically the searching and scheduling showings. The first 2 weeks after our offer was accepted I definitely felt the anxiety kicking in, wondering if I was making a horrible decision or not by putting myself into a 30 year mortgage, but within the last week I've started really thinking about the new tank and what all I can do and its completely turned my anxiety into excitement. Being that I will own this home, I guess that means I can have a sump room

I'm not going to toss all my grand ideas out there just yet, I'll save that for my next build thread that will be popping up in the large tanks section sometime in the next 2 months. That being said, it also means that this thread will be coming to an end soon, but it is still really nice looking back on this thread and seeing how much things grew over the past 3 and half years of the tank's life, I hope the next tank is just as fulfilling.
