i just got a really nice orange ricordea frag and i was just wondering do they attatch themselves to a piece of rock over time or do i need to attatch them using glue or something?

about how long does this normally take? I have it resting on a rock in a very low flow area and it still seems to move around a little, about once every couple of hours.

See if you can locate some bridal veil and strap the shroom to the rock where you want it. Other option is to take something like a strawberry basket, put a bunch of small rocks in there, and put the ricordea in, then stretch the veil over the top to keep it in there. After a few days, it should have attached to a piece of rock, which you can then put wherever you want.

I usually tie mine to a little piece of rubble rock with fishing line. I usually leave it alone for about a wk or two. This has always worked for me, I like buying the non-attached mushrooms because they are usually cheaper and I have a good record for getting them to attach as long as I leave them alone and don't place them in high flow.

I just tied it down using fishing line so ill see how it holds up.Thanks for the info.

I hope it works for you. I did have one I had to retie because it was so small and slimed up so bad while I was tying that it just worked its way underneath the line after a day or two. I have never tried thread, I would almost think that might be a little easier because it not as slippery. I know they use thread for FW plants because by the time it falls apart the plant has attached. I believe next time I need to tie down zoes or mushrooms I am goint to try thread. Good luck
