Rke

That is the correct way. The order only matters once you have it programmed.

just make sure you have the lastest firmware installed for each device before you go hooking it all up - thats a ton of work to do and have to do all over...:shout:

Actually, make sure that you have the latest for the Elite, not necessarily the latest. For example, the latest NET firmware is 2.00. The Lite can use it but the Elite has to use 1.12.

Not sure if it is still the case, but not long ago the PC4s were the same way (the Lite used newer firmware than the Elite).

4096 bytes loaded, 64 activeBlocks
Program buffer's checksum = 94A2
New revision is 0107
No System Interface Device attached!

This is an error it keeps giving me. The blue light comes on on the SID it also says check cable. I have used a different cable and it still says the same thing what could it be?

All I can tell you is I always hook up the SID before hooking up the RK module, and I get a message saying "SID attached" or something like that. I've never tried plugging the SID in with the module already plugged into it.

I think you have to use a specific length bus cable (provided when bought new) to connect the head unit with the SID....unfortunately I forgot which one...its either the shortest or next to shortest. it has to be their cable - regular phone jack cables will not work.

If you turn on your head unit it should show the firmware version (in the upper right hand corner of the screen for each module and PC4 that are attached. Push the "In" button and scroll thru the list taking note of the version number in the top right of the screen - see photo

this should help you eliminate what you do and do not need to update, you may not have to at all.

I hope this at least helps a little

I plug up the SID first.

You may have a bad SID or bus cable. If you are going to be at the meeting by chance, I can loan you an SID to see.

No, I named my RKE "Salmon" :lol2: J/K

The color formerly known as pink is now #23

I am not going to be at the meeting. But I might take you up on that. I could meet you where ever you want this weekend. Thanks Bruce

Yeah, I think they want a really short cable to avoid any communication issues with the modules. What's the shortest one you have? And how could the program tell that the cable wasn't long enough? I'm pretty sure I've updated modules before without the correct cable.

On Sunday, I could help you program it too, but I am quite a long way from Chatsworth... about 45-60 minutes West of ATL depending on traffic.

1 foot is the shortest one.

I have 2, 1 foot ones and 6 other ones I have tried them all still does not work.
