Just wondering how everybody hooks their units up to a water source. I want to mount it to the wall so I was going to use a saddle valve and hook up to the cold water coming off of the hot water heater. Any thoughts or other suggestions maybe?

I've had mine with a saddle valve on the cold water supply for about 8 months now, so far so good.

I bought an ice maker kit that came with the saddle valve in the kit. What is the the difference between the two valves?

there's no such thing as a hot water heater
if water is already hot it doesn't need to heated...lol

Heat is relative. Matter of fact, it gets really hot when my relatives are near. hehehehehe

I use a Y adaptor for garden hoses on the cold water connection at the wash machine hook up. The "Water" heater is right next to it but this was easier. :-)
