Whats a acceptable TDS reading for RO/DI water that can be used for a reef tank? I ask this because I just borrow a TDS meter from a friend and I'm going to test my water once I get home tonight.

That's nothing!! Out of the tap...it's 33 to 41ppm depending on where you live. Ever wonder what makes that up?

Well I tested the water coming out of the faucet and it was reading like 78ppm. Then I dipped the output into a cup of water I got from the water dispenser and it was reading 4ppm.

be sure to rinse the test cup well in the water to be tested. you don't want any left over bad water in it.
