RO/DI -- temp impact?

I think I read that RO/DI units don't perform as well during cold weather -- i.e. there's more waste water generated and it's a much slower process.

Is this true -- or was it a dream?

When the water temperature is colder the rejection rate goes up. So, your product to waste ratio will change a bit with the season. Usually membranes are tested at 77 degrees (ref. Spectrapure) so performance may not be exactly what the instructions say but close is good enough. My OCD personality had me going nuts trying to get the correct waste to product ratio and I got to know the good folks at Spectrapure pretty well.
