So I'm ordering a RO/DI unit off BRS tonight and was wondering if anybody could give advice to which model is the most bang for the buck. I've never owned my own unit nor know a whole bunch about them. I was leaning towards this model.

Any thoughts for or against such model? I have a 72 gal with a evap rate of about a gal/day. Do about a ten gal water change every other week. Also water bill is a flat rate payed through HOA.

Byran, I pretty much have the same unit. The membranes can be upgraded to a higher rating once the original needs replacing. It looks like the DI cartridge is capable of replacing the DI resin when needed. I recommend purchasing the bulk DI resin from BRS it will be well worth it. You can save some $$$ if you buy the resin in bulk @ http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/nuclear-grade-color-changing-di-resin-1-5-gallons-7-5pounds.html">http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/nuclear-grade-color-changing-di-resin-1-5-gallons-7-5pounds.html</a>

I would recommend getting a inline TDS meter to monitor the system. You can find that on BRS site as well @ [IMG]http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/products/reverse-osmosis-filters-and-systems/ro-di-accessories/single-inline-tds-meter-sm-1-hm-digital.html">http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/products/reverse-osmosis-filters-and-systems/ro-di-accessories/single-inline-tds-meter-sm-1-hm-digital.html</a>.

Ebay also has them, just do a search in the search line on ebay and you'll find them.

Hope this helps....I can also refer you to a local resource to purchase the other cartriges real cheap locally. PM me for details....

No complaints from my BRS 75 GPD RO/DI 5 Stage PLUS. The plus gets you everything the standard one has with the addition of a Pressure Gauge, Dual TDS Meter and Flush Kit.
