Rock question

I had a bucket of live rock on the back deck and forgot about it this winter needless to say the bucket froze. I have rinsed the rock and let it sit out in the sun until it is white again. So now I guess I have base rock. The question is what should I do to it before I put it in my sump with my other rock?

Anything that was originally alive in the rock will still be there even if it is dead and will need to go through the decaying process. I'd put it in a tub with a power head and heater and let it go through a cycle just to be safe.
