So I started filling up my brute for and noticed in the middle of my 40g batch of water that my TDS meter went from 0.00 to 0.01 - any concern here with the current batch? I have the replacement filters but wondering if my 40g isn't any good.

Don't think that it would be an issue, I would say your fine no need to throw good water away.
I wouldn't sweat it.
Do you have an inline meter connected to your unit? If so, BRS usually uses the DM-1 dual TDS meters (they buy them from me.) You should be able to toggle back and forth to see what the untreated tap water is, versus the permeate water (good filtered water.)

OK they must have it hooked up to after the membrane (before the DI) and after the DI. Never understood why people do that but OK.
So you don't know what the incoming TDS is. IMO it's kind of redundant to do the before/after the DI because usually they use colour-changing DI so you can SEE when it's exhausted anyway.
If you knew the incoming TDS you could figure out if the membrane was performing to its stated rejection rate. 1 TDS is good regardless, after just the membrane.
I always set up mine to show untreated versus treated water.
