Rod's Food

Anyone tried rod's food? is it the best stuff you can buy..will it color up your fish or is it better to just buy fresh from grocery store and add selcon vitamins etc?

Rods is good I use it mainly as a treat just a little pricy to feed all the time

It's good, but you can basically make the same thing in bulk for a lot cheaper.

I feed it daily with mysis, cyclopeeze & OVO.

I love that OVO! However, it's packed with nutrients as is Rod's and cyclopeeze, how are you removing phates and trates quick enough where it doesn't make your tank full of algae? How much do you put in your tank?

I feed Ovo like once a week....But I do feed a lot of frozen PE Mysis....

I'm a vegetarian so I have never tried it. My fish, however, love Rod's food.

I feed Ovo like once a week....But I do feed a lot of frozen PE Mysis....

I don't have much livestock. Just 4 smaller fish and then some corals.

At noon most days I will take a chunk of ovo about the size of 2 tic-tacs and melt it in tank water, kill the flow (except for the return) and dump it in.

In the eve, I use a mix. I mix a bit of Rods (maybe 1/2 sq-cm? like 3 tic-tacs?) with 2 cubes of mysis, 1 cube of Cyclopeeze, 10 drops of garlic xtreme & 1ml of selcon. I mix that in RO and feed that over 3-4 days. I dump it when most of the mysis is gone.

I use rods food everyday and the fish go nuts over it I was feeding a few different things and got a small pack of rods to try and they went crazy over it and have been feeding it ever since I think it's great because it has a good mix of things in it so there is something for everybody

OMG....you feed more than me (perspectively)....hummmm....you got an OZ size skimmer? or something?

Nope, pretty undersized skimmer actually. But remember. What I make up above goes in over 3-4 days and even then I don't go through it all and end up throwing a good bit out. Dunno. I feed what they eat and don't have any real big issues. Im lucky I guess
