I cleaned off the whole tank, sprayed down the rocks, sucked up any algae, and had the tank looking really nice.
I turned everything off, and took out 5 gallons of water. Picked up my bucket of water and poured it in. I was very happy with how smooth everything went.
Then..... dundundun
About 10 minutes later I looked down and realized that my bucket labled RO had no water in it.... and my bucket labeled salt was full. UGH.
In a panic, I measured the salinity and it went down to 1.21- I quickly did another water change with the salt, and it is back up to 1.23. There is nothing more I can do then let everything settle and I filled my ATO with salt water to try and get it back up to 1.25.
I felt like such an idiot and I am really mad at myself. So far, everything looks good.... I can only hope it stays that way.
Let this be a lesson.... ALWAYS check to see which water you are topping off with. Some of the most trivial tasks can kill a lot of awesome things.
