RTN on ORA Red Planet

So my favorite coral just died. I got a shipment from LiveAquaria a week or so ago, and everything is doing great, even the Bellina Acro which was sitting right next to the Red Planet.

Last night everything looked fine, this morning, my Red Planet had completely RTNed. Dead and gone.

Params are all good, except my nitrates are hovering around 20 or so. Just did a water change this weekend. I don't dose any calcium or alk, since my system is so small, so I rely on frequent water changes to supplement. All other stonies and acros seem to be doing great, especially the ones that have been in my system for 6+ months.

Anyone have an idea why this one would die and all of my other corals seem to be doing great? Should I expect the Bellina Acro to RTN soon?

I am suspecting Nitrates to be the culprit - I see about 2 dead frags a day in my system these days - fighting nitrates full force.
WC every 2 days etc... slowly getting better

Sorry to hear that... I just checked my nitrates for the first time in a LONG time (today is WC day) and I expected them to be really high. They were at zero for the first time ever.

I'm still getting a lot of GHA though. Wonder if it's a phosphate issue.

GHA is consuming the nitrates for growth. They're there, just being used.

Didn't even think about that. It's not THAT big an outbreak though.

edit: I take that back. It's getting pretty out of control... Ugh. I'm running Purigen and Chemi-Pure Elite. Lights about 8 hours a day. RO/DI water only. Feed Rod's or Mysis every other day (pretty controlled).
