I have a 6 foot by 4 foot area in my fish room that I can house a sump I want to make it out of tote containers of some kind I was thinking of using three of them one for my skimmer that I have not purchased yet. The second for my refugium and the third for some live rock storeage an return pump I have a 75 gallon display tank that I am working on getting up soon just need some ideas on what size containers? What type name brand containers? And the setup for the setup for the three containers if this is a good idea. All help would be grateful thanks. Plumbing also.

I'd use one big stock tank. 50, 100, or 150g. plumbing 3 flimsy totes together is a no-no

I used them temp but found they bulged too much with the water inside, and i wasn't sure how long they would really last with the salt. It worked, but a real sump or cheaper, a regular tank, works much better in the long run. If you do use totes i suggest building some basic 2x4 frames for them to keep them from bulging and they might last longer for you.

I have done it in the past and works for a while but, aventually leaks ( normally when your not home). I would use a tank or stock tank with hard plastic like from tractor and supply
