Salinity preference

Lower salinity is better for fish. Higher salinity is better for inverts. 1.025 SG is a compromise. My LFS has their fish at 1.015. Mail order inverts were in 1.032. Parasites are inverts, and the lower salinity for just fish is good for keeping the
parasites at bay. LFS also keeps the fish in constant copper, so I cannot introduce any of their water into my tank, which has many inverts. My 75 gal tank is at 1.025 SG, so I drip acclimate them for extra long, sometimes for 2 hours. And their water is
probably 1.024 before they are introduced into the tank. And that seems to work just fine.
