Salinity salt ?

What am I doing wrong when i mix my RODI and Salinity. Should I have the salt sit for certain amount of time before putting in tank? Every time I use it there is residue in my tank and it is cloudy.

how long did you mix it? maybe you didn't mix it enough, which will make the water cloudy. but then there's also a possibility of how the salt was harvested. there's reports where people see stuffs at the bottom of their mixing bucket, residue of some kind. so the next time, mix it really well. for a few hrs before you put it in the tank and see what happens

Add water then Salt not salt in bucket then add water

Salinity will always leave a little residue.the cloudiness goes away very quickly once added to tank for me.its a PITA but the stability is well worth it.

When I mix a batch its always cloudy at first but goes away once its mixed. I also don't drop a heater in until its clear and this has helped lower the amount of precipitation I get.

Mine is always cloudy too, it doesn't hurt anything.

I'm in the mix half, wait 30 minutes, add other half camp as well. I've also had better results using a large slotted spoon to stir the water when adding the salt instead of a powerhead. Only takes a couple of minutes to turn clear and will usually stay that way for 12-24 hours.

Don't store it more than a day or so before using - the salt will start to fall out of solution (the cloudiness). But if used within that time its parameters appear to be spot-on.

I mix it in with my 40g drum 24 hours before doing a water change.

I mix about 50 gallons at a time and leave it with a power head for up to 3 weeks. Never had a problem with anything! Did the same with other salts as well. I don't believe in the use it within 24 hours for it goes bad theory. I've always left premixed salt for weeks at a time and have been doing so for years without incident. Good luck

YES! you are correct! There are always a couple of "trade offs" with each salt, i.e., adding mag & calcium, etc....

nope, no adding! just residue in sump & mixing tank! If you mix Salinity 24 hours in advance without a heater, there is no cloudiness~

my inhabitants love large water changes! THEY ARE HAPPY! That's why I love Salinity!

+1 mine do too. I can see they are content after large water changes.
