As far as Seachem was concerned, I had to chase alk all the time, and with RC I don't have to. They both have residue left in the container, but the Reef Salt was kind of slick and yucky, and the Reef Crystals leaves a brown film but it is almost hard... it certainly doesn't make me worry about it getting pumped out and into my tank.
