ok i need some help guys i have a 32G tub/can filled with ro/di water and im using instant ocean salt how much salt do i add to get 1.025 salinity roughly

Start with 1/2 cup per gallon (so 16 cups), mix, check and add a bit more if necessary.

Doesnt the bag say like 1/2 cup per gallon or something?
That gives you 1.021???

Go from there.

I got my mix from a store selling just the bags... not that I'm complaining. They said 1/2 cup per gallon but, it usually ends up being a little more.

Easiest to start with the 1/2 cup per gallon and add more if you need to get the desired (higher) specific gravity. If you add too much, then you'd have to add more RO to dilute... the former is much easier.

The best way to know where your specific gravity (salt level) is at, will be to check it with a refractometer or hydrometer a few hours after you mix your saltwater. If you need more then add salt, if yours is to high then add water. I use the refractometer to check all my tanks before I do my water change to make sure they are about 1.025. The refractometer costs more but in the long run it is worth it. When I started my hydrometer was way off-I thought my water was at 1.025 but it was at 1.029. :D

Yea I did the half cup method measured out to roughly 8 lbs for 32 gallons my salinity is measuring 1.024 with my refractometer so I'm close lol
