Salt water storage??

I've had some water that's been sitting in a clean brute trash can with lid for a while, and when I mean a while like don't know how long. It's had aeration and heat on and off, if I heat and aerate again will it be ok?

How long has it been sitting? Just kidding. I've left mixed saltwater in a clean brute for several weeks before using it and I didn't have any problems. How much water is there?

and its been salted? I would just run a quick test to see if it still held its levels and then use it. if it hasnt had a lid id be a little iffy about it since you dont know what may have gotten in there.

Im sure its not much water so you may want to err on the side of caution and not use it. I always ask myself, is it worth a possible crash to save $5 worth of "x"...probably not...

As long as its in a lid and aerated then the water will be good to go... there is nothing in there to deplete the elements in the water.

Yeah you should be good to go. I've done this several times over the years.

So I did a little sniff test and it has got an odor, so I think I'm gonna dump it. Like Gary said the small cost of salt water is not worth risking my tank.
So I'll just go get fresh stuff tomorrow.
