Sand Sifting Goby

What is the best sand sifting goby? From what I see from online vendors, it looks like the golden head sleeper and the diamond watchmen are the two best...

I've had them both and they do a fantastic job.The only complaint with the yellow headed is that he would dump sand all over my rocks.

How many do you think would be needed for a 120 gal? 1 or 2? would one of each get along together?

<span style="font-family: Calibri"><span style="font-size: 13px">I have a couple. The diamond watchman, engineer, twin spot and the sleeper banded. The diamond will move some snails if he wants too. The twin spot will dig and slap around a kick sand up behind him (funny) and then you have the bombing sleeper banded. He will pick up a mouth full and go way up and let it go. Its funny sometimes&#8230; and the engineer (snake like) it was about 3&#8221; when we got him and now he&#8217;s about 6&#8221; he&#8217;s sorta like an eel. I have these in a 120 (48x24x24) make sure your rocks are on the glass and not on the sand.</span></span>

I have a single diamond goby in my 120. He keeps my sandbed pristine.

I have one Diamond in a 90 and my sand bed is very clean. Although I do have to uncover any corals that are live on the sand bed a couple times a week. I've actually almost given up on putting anything in one particular spot. He'll completely bury anything in that area! It's right in front of his favorite hole.

I have an orange spotted goby and he does absolutely nothing. Moves around a bit but gets prodded and probed by my cleaner shrimps most of the day. Yours for free if we can catch him.

Little bugger has been trying to snip my candy basslet.

I've never had a sand sifting goby. I have always been worried about them spreading sand all over corals, and rearranging too much.

Have one diamond goby that does a great job. My watchman goby doesn't really sift the sand his partner pistol shrimp Does tho

Our diamond goby is about 4 inches in a 110 gal. He is more of a bull dozer he can snail up to size of a quarter.

You .make a good point. I was so busy thinking about the positives of sand sifting that I hadn't thought about the negatives. Anyone of issues with coral irritation? I have black hawaiin substrate that is a medium sized particulate so don't think I have to worry too much about creating clouds of sand.
