I Came Up With This Concoction Late Last Evening After Finally Getting My Hands On Some Nice Live Rock... Thanks Jeff.

Its A New JBJ 12G Nanocube Deluxe And It Consists Of The Following:

12lbs Of Live Rock
10lbs Of Caribsea Pink Fiji Live Sand
Modular Surface Skimmer

I Cleared The Rear Chambers And Added A Fully Submerible Tetra 50w Heater That Automatically Adjusts Heat Output To Keep The Water At A Constant 78 Degrees... One Less Headache. :D

I Ditched The Bioballs, Carbon, And Rings But Left The Sponge In To Trap All The Cloudy Particles And It Must Stay Its Done A Great Job...

These Pics Are From Today:

Im Currently Letting The Tank Run With No Lights To Prevent Any Algae Growth...

I Welcome You In My Journey. Any Thoughts, Tips, And Feedback Is Appreciated...

So Its Been Running A Little Under 24hrs Now And I Decided To Put This API Test Kit To Work And Came Out With These Parameters:

The pH And Nitrate Were The 2 Tests That Seemed To Give Me A Bit Of Trouble. It Was Kinda Hard To Distinguish A Similar Color Match On The Cards...

Nitrite Came In At Exactly 0 And Nitrate Was Hard To Tell If It Was 5.0 Or 20.

My Question Is: Doesnt Nitrate Come From Nitrite? Is It Possible This Tank Cycled Overnight? :o

Noticed A Few Things Here And There On The Tank Just Now... Any Idea What The Items Circled In RED Are? Looks Like Some Hard Chili Coral...

I Couldnt Get A Good Shot Of The Item Circled In Blue. It Appears To Be An Anemone Of Some Sort... Hope Its Not Aptesia... :mad2:

Found Another Guy I Couldnt Get A Shot Of. He Hides In The Hole Circled Above. Only Comes Out With The Lights Off And Completely Hides With Any Movement Or When The Lights Come On...

After Looking For Pics Online, It Does Appear To Be A Aiptesia.

Thanks... It Sure Was A Pain In The A** Getting Everything To Stay In Place... I Tried Different Layouts And This Was The One I Was Most Pleased With...

Any Tips On Killing It? Im Contemplating Using Lime Juice As My First Choice, Seeing How I Have A Fresh Bottle In The Fridge... Perhaps I Remove The Rock And Inject Directly?

Appaloosa1224;354531 wrote: Could it be a small featherduster? Does it retract into a tube?

Thats What I Thought At First Bit I Cant Really Tell Seeing How It Retracts Straight Into A Hole In The Rock... It Looks More Like Aiptasia Than A Featherduster By The Comparisons Ive Made Online..

Now, In The Rock Closest To You In The Sandbed, There Appears To Be A Very Small Featherduster Present But At This Point, Who Knows... Maybe More Aiptasia... :shout:

You can try that for killing it. Don't pull the rock, if you do it'll retract into the rock and your chanced wont be so good. Unless you pull it and cover it with superglue. If you have kalk, you can always inject that into it and cover it with a paste of kalk.

Ill Try The Lemon Juice First, Possibly Tonight... If Theres No Luck There, Ill Pull It And Direct Inject And Then Superglue It I Guess... :wow2:

As Long Its Not Considered A Pest, Any Addition Is Great At This Point... Youve Been A Great Help So Far... Thanks Once Again.

Love the rock work!! Looks great

Thanks Chris... Means A Lot Coming From You... I Still Need To Free Up An Afternoon And Come By And Visit Your Store...

Adam

No, Im Using An Existing Stand/Corner Table That I Had In A Guest Room... Perfect Fit For The Cube But Its Not The Right Height... Waaaay Tooo Low For My Liking. Im Still Keeping My Eyes Open For A Great Deal... *WINK * WINK* :shades:

Man Oh Man, What A Day...

I Went Ahead And Waited Till This Morning To Try To Tackle This Aiptesia Issue...

I Went For A More Direct Approach And Pulled The Rock... Gave The Problem Area A Nice Lime Juice Squirt And Waited. Not Satisfied, I Then Squirted It With Boiling Water...

I Then Carefully Inspected The Underside Of The Rock And What Do I Find?

Thats Right, Green Bubble Algae... :mad2:

I Went Ahead And Pulled Everything Out Of The Tank For A More Careful Inspection And I Found The Same On The Underside Of Several Pieces...

So I Got To Work, Pulled What I Could, And Gave The Problem Areas A Good Scrubbing... :shout:

What A Pain In The A** It Was To Try And Get The Aquascape Exactly Like I Had It Before.

I Tried And Tried And Nothing Seemed To Fall Into Place. :grrr:

Things Would Tumble Over And Fall + Substrate All Over The Place = :mad3:

So I Took A Break And Headed To Out To Get Some Adhesive To Ease The Mayhem And Threw This Together:

Similar To What I Had Before And Now Very Stable. Nothing Tumbling Over And Falling Which Gives Me A Bit Of Peace Of Mind... :D

I Like This One A Bit More Seeing How I Now Have 2 Caves Hidden Right Under The Center Of Main Rock That Leads To The Back. Fish And Inverts Can Sneak Under There Straight To The Backside Of The Tank... WOOT WOOT. :bubba:

Everything Is Back Up And Running, What Do You Guys Think?

Rock scape is great. Good work.

I would recommend getting some more water movement in the aquarium as your next upgrade. Not sure on your budget, but Koralias are great IMO.

Take your time and monitor the cycle and then the really fun stuff begins.

Awesome!....keep us updated on the progress.

Thanks For The Words... I Actually Have My Eyes On A Koralia Nano As My Next Purchase. Anyone Have One They Want To Part With?

I Purchased A Hydor Flo When I First Went Out And Bought My Necessities. I Think Ill Replace The Stock Nozzle With It And Add The Nano PH...

Ill Let The Tank Run Overnight And Ill Recheck Params Tomorrow Afternoon...
