Does anybody run the Scwd valves and what are the pros and cons

I do run one on my closed loop - a pain to remove and get cleaned.
If you get one - get the 1" and not the 3/4", much easier to clean...

3/4"= a little tougher to clean, impossible to disassemble (read: repair).

We have one in a 29g, 30g, 40g and 75g. They are hooked to the return pump and it gives good flow in the tank. We do have power heads in all the tanks, it does not take their place but gives the extra flow needed in a reef tank.:D Holley

Thanks for the input. I bought a 150 that's drilled for a closed loop. Thing about using a couple of them on the class.

That tank IMHO is too big for a SCWD - look into the OceanMotion series, might be a better fit...
