I know this is a simple question, but I have not set up any tanks in a long time. I have bought a good deal of dry rock, will live sand be enough to seed the rock, or should go buy some additional live rock. I know new rock would be better, but would sand be enough...just results in a long cycle. Thanks everyone, tank thread soon to come!

But if you want that awesome purple corillane algae you will need to add a piece of LR with some pre existingcorillane algae on itand throw it in the tank. Most people with scrape some algae off in the tank to help spread the growth of it faster.

You could also throw in a piece of raw shrimp from kroger.Im using a bottle of amonia from ace hardware to cycle mine . It was less then 10.00 and should speed up the process .I was told by another member about ace hardware amonia.I did some research and found some amonia is not pure amonia so I just picked up ace hardware amonia to be safe.
