should turn the lights on?

i picked up some rock from slayer the other day.right now i have the rock in a rubbermaid with k2 moving water. my 250 hqi just came today,should i crank up the light over the rubber maid or wai untill my pump gets here and put it over my frag tank when its running. the rock is a little purple and id like to keep it that way.btw its been with out lights for 2 weeks.

i have never used light when qting lr since it would help any unwanted algae etc to continue to grow. the coraline algae should stay on the rock. how much longer do you intend on leaving it in the rubbermaid.
