Hello everyone,
Going to get a six line wrasse tomorrow. Are they really reef safe? I have heard these are great fish. How are the feeding habits? Any thoughts very thankful....mike:shades:

my thoughts are you will regret this decision. very cool fish until they turn on you and the tank mates. they can be very agressive (and difficult to catch, esp in a reef tank). do a little more research on their behavior before you commit

+1
One of the first fish I added. Yeah...it's reef safe and is no problem for my tangs and pretty much any medium to large fish, but I can't add any small or timid fish. 6 line will kill them. Chases , harrasss and picks on any fish I add. Learned the hard way when I added a nice tri of Bartlett Anthias.
All dead!

I hate my 6 line.

... and there's no catching him now.

I have one in a 29gal biocube along with a couple clowns, a yellow watchman goby, and a tailspot blenny. The only thing he picked on was an emerald crab that I added and even then only for a couple of days. I did add him last though as I'd read aggression could be a problem. My rock work also has plenty of hiding places though the fish all frequently swim together out front.

If you decide to get one I'd add it last. Mine has been a model citizen but I've only had it since September. They are a beautiful fish and very active. Most of my fish stayed in the rock work until I added the six line. So in my case it drew the rest out of hiding.

I had one for about 9 months and loved him. But, as everyone warned me, he did turn. Got to the point I could not add any new fish. They are great fish but you have to be prepared for the aggression that is bound to come over time.

Their bad reputation has kept me from adding one. Lots of other wrasses out there that are much kinder...

Mine started to be a tank terrorizer. Was planning on catching it. Came home from work one day and it had decided to see what the world was like.:( hate that it died but happy it is not terrorizing the rest of the fish anymore. I think there are many more reef safe erasers with better personalitys

Yeah, but most aren't nano friendly and my wife pretty much fell in love with it the first time I took her to Pure Reef and she saw one. I'm hoping mine behaves as I do like ALL my fish, not just it :D.

Decided against the wrasse and pu a maroon clown instead today...thanks everyone
