I am possibly in the market for a better skimmer(gently used if possible) and i am not sure what direction to go in. I have a 90rr and the skimmer i have now just isn't cutting it. I have heard that octopus puts out a pretty good product but i would like to hear everybodys opinion. also if you have something let me know what and how much. Thanks for the help in advance.

I use the AquaC EV-180 on my multi-tank system. I upgraded from a Coralife 220, and am really pleased with the results. The AquaC line seems really good to me, but are a bit more expensive to say the least.

Check out the Avast DIY Cone Skimmer - I would have bought this if it was available during my setup. http://www.avastmarine.com/ssc/do/product/youbuilt/CS1-Cone-Skimmer-Kit">http://www.avastmarine.com/ssc/do/product/youbuilt/CS1-Cone-Skimmer-Kit</a>

I went with an Octopus Extreme 160 w/ Sicce pump at the time, which is also a great skimmer IMO.

You could look at some of the SWC Skimmers of which I have heard good things, especially the 160 Cone with Atman pump: [IMG]http://www.saltwaterconnection.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=fb9af571f06d900a394139863a84abef">http://www.saltwaterconnection.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=fb9af571f06d900a394139863a84abef</a>

JCUS,

That Avast DIY skimmer is pretty cool. Their whole web-site is pretty cool too. Thanks!

I had seen the skimmer wiper before when Acroholic wrote about his. I guess I should have looked a little further. I like those guys!

I really like the new line of Super Reef Octopus Skimmers by CoralVue. I've got the 2000 INT and it works very well.
