Hey Ladies & Gents,
I picked up a 46g Bowfront (Free)...
Well, I would like to set it up as a coral only tank maybe a few(2/3) small fish like a fairy wrasse,goby/shrimp pair...
My question is, Can I run just a skimmer and t5 fixture and have good results? I'll do 20% bi-weekly W/C's and testing. So the build would look something like this...
<p style="text-align:center;"><span style="color: darkred;">46g Bowfront</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">40lbs Sandbed</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">30/40lbs LiveRock</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">36" T5 fixture</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">24" LED Moonlight Strip</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">HOB Skimmer rated 75gph or higher</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">(2) Koralia 2's or 3's</span></em>
<span style="color: darkred;">*optional HOB filter w/only carbon/purigen to help polish the water</span></em>
<span style="color: #8b0000;"></span></em>
<span style="color: black;">Please chime in with thoughts and opinions...</span>
Thanks a Million!!!

FWIW I only have a canister filter on my 60g, I mainly use it to store my carbon. I clean it out when I do water changes, which I do 5g every week. No skimmer, no fuge, no sump. My water is always perfect. I have 3 small fish in there a butt load of hermits and snails. Tons of coral, a huge condy nem, and 2 pbta. I have a T5 on mine as well.. I just have to be carefully of my coral placement because my tank is so deep. I think you will be just fine, especially if you keep up with water changes..
