Good skimmer or not? I have a 120 gallon tall with a 40 gallon breeder as my sump. I’m currently using a reef octopus nwb-150 (if memory serves) and I’m afraid it may be undersized for my tank. I get about a 1/4 of the skimmate cup full each week.

The skimmer I’m considering is a skimz sv 227 oval dc skimmer. Thanks for your opinion!

That’s a great deal, but I believe they’re only rated up to a 120 with a heavy bioload? I’m trying to think towards the future, if I want to add a separate fuge or a larger sump.

You want to size the skimmer to the amount of waste produced. A larger sump doesn't increase the bioload and a fuge is a waste reducer.

Unless you're planning on adding a frag tank plumbed into the system with fish in it you should be good. There's always skimmers for sale too.
