Ive looked at this skimmer and a Reefer is selling a Mr-2 Without the pump for 250.

Alot of reviews tell me to stay clear away from the MR because it uses a Presser pump which is more Cost then a Normal Pump.

I plan on lots of fish and most of my rock in my sump.

Id like to keep it under 300.00

Edit: My Questions is Which should i go?

Kris.......I love my octopus although it's an older model (2010), it works excellent and doesn't require a lot of "tuning" with the changes in sump water level. Mine is a recirc model with a bubble plate in the bottom.

It's all relative. The MR-2 is a skimming beast. You can sacrifice that to save a few dollars a year on electricity, but why? If you want a lot of fish, you need a lot of skimmer.

If it's the monthly expense you're concerned about, calculate how much you're actually dealing with and then decide. It may be a lot less than you think.
