Hey, I have an idle skimmer laying around that I'm missing the cover for. Question is, will it work well without it? When it was running in the past it seemed the bubbles kind of needed it to sort of stick to until more bubbles forced them into the cup.

The skimmer will function with out the lid, but will work better with it. With most designs, the lid actually helps create a back-pressure that will keep the skimmer from skimming too wet. It shouldnt be too hard to make-shift something to work.

the answer is... it depends..

some won't work very well at all without the lid, especially if they are pressurized..

what skimmer is it? (picture?)

It's a super skimmer 65. Not the best to start with but for what I want to do it's good enough. Stupid me. I gave the lid away thinking I'd never use the thing again.
