After upgrading to the 120, my old skimmer is waaaay undersized and outdated.
Looking for some recommendations for a QUIET skimmer, as my tank is about 4 feet from my bed.

So far Im lookin at the reef octo SRO 3000 or SRO 2000. Would the 3000 be overkill? Looking for a skimmer that will support SPS and a heavy bioload.
Also looking for some input on sicce psk 1000 and 2500 vs bubble blaster hy1000 and hy2000.

Srry for all the questions! Hoping somebody can point me in the right direction

I had an SRO3000 on my 120g that has 100g sump. By no means was it overkill and I ended up with a much larger skimmer. My tank is much happier for it. Get the largest skimmer your pocket book will allow. The SRO is fairly quiet but I would definitely tell you to not go smaller than a 3000 if you plan on doing SPS and a heavy bioload.

You ended up with a larger skimmer? wow so you would say the sro 3000 is not gonna cut it for a 120?
Trying to keep it around $400

I went to a Reeflo Orca Pro I by MRC. Day and night difference it made.
I think you would be ok with a 3000 but if you can afford bigger, do it. I've found a skimmer is good for more than just pulling goo out. It can dramatically increase the tanks PH. I assume from the increased oxygen levels that a larger skimmer can create.

Look at the Royal-Exlusiv Cone series. The 170 model would cover you well. Ultra quiet and energy efficient. I have a 250 and a 300. Love them. Not cheap, but worth every penny, IMO.

Throwing my vote in for the larger reef octo. Recently upgraded to a reef octo myself and very impressed with it. I have a 72 bow, about 90 gallons in the system, nwb 150 here.

Ps I'd also listen to Dave and Seth ;) bigger is better....

Those Red Dragon pumps are nothing to mess with. Serious skimmer here! Aside from that, I use to have an SRO5000 INT....great skimmer. To me, the BB pumps are muuuuch better than the sicce. Though, they may have changed for the better over the years, but I never really cared for them.
