Which fish actually sleep (periods of immobility, followed by grogginess) and which ones just slow down for the night?

I've got a blue tang that looks like it's lying down in the Qtank.. (but during the day, it's up and about)

no sand, but yes, there's LR...

this was a lights off situation, he doesn't appear to be scared of anything under the normal operating hours of the tank...

mine does the same thing. Finds a tight place in the rocks and always laying on his side, appears to go to sleep.

All of the fish (well, almost all) in my tank have their own "beds". Though my Ocellaris don't have an anemone that they host, they have a specific corner that they go to and they bob there all night. The only fish that doesn't settle in for the night the Sohal tang. He never stops; he zigs and zags in and out of rock work all night long. I've wondered why he does this.

I have a large clarkii that "hosts" with a small rock anemone - but then he's not very picky in that regard. He uses his tail to keep the sand in the area near the nem hollowed and come lights out he eventually lays down on the sand next to it. Everybody else in the tank goes to their little hidy-holes.
