I had the same issue w my last 120. Poor colors... Explosive growth.
Whatever I was doing I'm doing it again

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

There's a pretty major upgrade coming to this tank over the next few days! Excited

The second half to this upgrade will be coming in Monday :) I'm excited enough to make plans to leave work when UPS arrives ha. I KNOW none of you have ever done such a thing

I've also gone back to the flexible pool type tubing for my drain line. I had it hard piped in, but it was a little louder than I wanted. The problem I have with THIS is that its a little too long and I can't cut the stuff or it cuts that 1" adapter off the end haha.. not sure how I'll manipulate it yet, but I'll figure something out.
If I just let it droop it seems it would make my overflow back up .

i dont think a little bit of a droop would back your overflow. its kinda the same principal as a p trap that you would see under a sink, when the faucet is on it dosent cause any drainage problems so it should be the same with any other type of tubing. i think the most important thing would be to keep it from being able to move. maybe you could use some pvc wall brackets to keep it in place once you have it where you want it.

yea I'll use something like that.
I'm also working on a solution to get my supply pumps "neatized"... I hate seeing a messy sump haha.

Very nice set-up!!! And nice upgrades~~
I too wish my wiring can be more organized. Its so hard to figure out how to hide all the wires. I am in process of changing out flex tubing into pvc plumbing. Disnt know hard plumbing was more noiser than a flex tubes.

it can be but isnt always. im using hard plumbing on mine and its super quiet. i think the noise comes from when air gets into the pipe and allows water to be able to move around in the pipe causing vibrations, when there is a full siphon the water has nowhere to go but in the direction of the pipe and the force at any bends will always be the same so it shouldn't allow any noticeable movement. my main drain is a full siphon with 2 90 degree bends and a 45 at the end and my secondary is the same way but i only have a tiny trickle of water going into it and i have no issues with noise.

As far as the wiring goes:
I have a dedicated third of my sump area that is "dry" there's a wall under there . Wet stuff on the right dry electrical on the left. Most of my wore mess is on the left out of sight.

I think the plumbing has a lot to do with flow rate and distance and all that.
In my situation the flex pipe just ends up a bit quieter. I could probably decrease the flow, but id rather not do that.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Will work something out one of these days. It's a long way yet from a "show tank"

What was the sump like before? That one looks pretty nice.
