What do owners do for cooling? my tank temp gets really high. around 86.

Usual procedure, from cheapest to most expensive option:

1. Remove the glass cover from your tank if it is on.

2. If you run halide lighting, keep your photoperiod to 7-8 hours/day. Use minimum required photoperiod for other type lighting if halides are not used.

3. place a fan blowing across your open tank top for evaporative cooling.

4. Lower the thermostat on your air conditioning during the summer.

5. buy a 1/15 or 1/10 hp chiller (more expensive than 4 initially).

I have a Solana with a 250W SunPod for lighting, and to regulate my temp I use the dual AZO Fan (30$ online) to blow air on the surface and it keeps it down to 78F, otherwise it would be around 83-86, house temp around 73F. If you decide to use a fan fix the temp, make sure you do get an Auto Top Off unit since it will evaporate around half a gallon of water per day.

Here is a link to the actual fans that I was talking about:

There is an online vendor here in Atlanta that sell this Fans but it looks like he is out of stock right now. His web page is [IMG]http://www.aquabuys.com">www.aquabuys.com</a>, give him a call and he will get u some for sure, and you wont pay shipping since you can pick up at the store haha  , I hope I wont get in trouble for posting online vendors links.

Thats a nice economical option, but how good would it work on a rimless tank, and how good are the looks on those fans.
