Spotted boxfish problems

Hi guys. I purchased a spotted boxfish a week ago. He looked bright yellow, with little black spots all over - very cute. Very busy in the tank, eats heartily, everything A-Ok.

Today I got home, and he is pale, almost white, and his skin looks like it is covered in tiny blisters, or like he is getting ready to shed (?) or something. He stays in one corner of the tank, and does not move around a lot, basically treading water over there.

Does anyone have any information on this? I have read that these fish can secrete a toxic slime and kill everyone in the tank, so if this is what it seems like, I would rather be proactive than pull all my other fish out dead.

Thank in advance,

Shane

What size tank is it in? tank mates? params? any additional details would be greatly helpful

Unfortunately, sloughing skin and tissue is typically a bad sign of pathogen, such as brookynella. I would suggest removing him to a treatment tank as soon as possible, and consider treating any other fish as well.
