SPS on glass

I'm fairly new to SPS and currently have a monti cap that is growing close to the glass. The question I have is, if I let it grow it it's current spot, and it encrusts to the glass, will it damage the glass or cause any problems, like pitting? Would it be hard to remove after? If not I'd like to keep it where it is but don't want it to cause any problems.

Certainly hope not since I have monti plates encrusting onto the back glass too, lol.

Well my tank is a peninsula style so it's almost dead center on one of the 3 viewable sides. I think it would look cool but only if I can remove it later with no issues.
