I believe I saw another thread about this somewhere. The answer to this exact question was that you will need most of the same equipment as a display tank. Except, the depth of the tank should factor into the lighting decision. Most of the custom frag tanks that I've read about have a depth of around 12 inches. But any depth would work, I imagine, coupled with frag racks to give you multiple depths to place the coral.
Disclaimer... I'm relatively new to the hobbie. Hopefully more experienced people will chime in.
Edit: I guess I should clarify the required equipment would be the same as the DT... not that the equipment would be sized the same.
