starting again questions

i am starting again with a smaller tank since my apartments wont let me keep my 75g. i got a 14g biocube from a friend and was thinking about starting this one up. but i know that cubes can be customized and was wondering if anyone has experience with them and knows what i should do. i know im gonna do an led conversion and protein skimmer but what else?

That's pretty much it. I gutted the hood of my 12g nano and put some LEDs in there. Then I drilled two holes for fans that blow into the water to help with heat. Throw out the stock pump and put a maxijet in there. That's about all I can think of without taking apart the whole tank.

media basket from mediabaskets.com and a 240 or 425 korelia are nice additions..i have both in mine...im actually about to break mine down because i transferred the contents to a 29g...check out nano-reef.com for every biocube mod known to man...the only skimmer i think that would fit in it is one of the biocube skimmers but they are a pain because u have to change out the airstone every few weeks...id rec a hob skimmer instead ..i run filter floss, chemipure elite and purigen in my media basket
