Do stomatella snails spawn often?

We used to have maybe 4 of stomatella snails in the aquarium. Over night early this week it seems there are several dozen incredibly small snails on the glass, and quite a few small - medium size somatella snails. And they have been out during the night and day.

I just wondered if they spawn often like this, or if it's a sign of anything we should be looking out for, etc.

I think that's normal. The other night I had a conglomeration of about 10 of them on the glass in one area of my seahorse tank. I think they were having a party :)

Mine vanish during the day, and if I turn the lights on early they hurry to find their hiding spots.

They must be reproducing because I only saw one or two hitch-hikers when I set the tank up but now I have at least 10 adult sized ones and a bunch of small ones.

It is normal. I now have several hundred in my 75 gal live rock holding tank in the basement. I rescue about 30 or so from the filter sock about once a week.

lol... craziness... I just thought it was insane that one day we woke up and there were sooooo many of them that were clearly just hatched, lol... craziness... I read somewhere clowns will feed on their eggs... is that true? Makes me wonder if they will eat the teenie tiny live ones on the glass too, because I feel like there are far less than there were a few days ago, unless they just finally decided to hide and get off the glass 24/7.

In my limited experience I've never seen clowns pick anything off the glass to eat but if you have other fish, especially wrasses, they will.

Unless I'm actively QTing something my QT runs as part of my overall system and after it had been without anything it for a while, I had at least a hundred stomatellas untill I took it off the system to QT a Mystery Wrasse. Within twentyfour hours all the snails except for a couple very large ones were gone.
