Stupid question?

Since I'm tearing down my 55, I went searching for a nanocube. My preference was the 24g but I ended up finding the 28g with a free stand for less, so that's what I got.

Now I have it, it's assembled, full of salt water with a few rocks and some sand, and it's looking great.

But.

I want to add a powerhead or two. I've got a couple of small koralias I can use, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to run a cord down into this tank, since the top fits so snugly. I was just about to take a pair of shears to the back bit of the lid when I thought hey, maybe I'm being stupid, and there's some trick to this.

Is there?

You could always get a Vortech MP10 and you wouldn't have cords to worry about... you know, just sayin. :)

Seriously, though, every one I've seen has had the lid notched for the cords.

No notches in mine at all :-/. But there are a few spots that look like they might be notch friendly if I make my own.

If you have a rotary tool I'd get a grinding bit that will make nice smooth notches. If you don't have a rotary tool you could get a rotary tool and do the same thing! Everyone needs a dremel!
