stupid question

I got a used skimmer last night and the pump dosnt work I know ordering a new pump is the best thing to do but I was looking at it last night and was just wondering if I get the same gph pump and run a air pump to it to get the bubbles in the chamber wouldnt it still work?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Just get a proper replacement.

Probably not but yes, what kind of skimmer?

Sometimes it can be macgyvered with a different pump and a venturi but most often you're best to go with the pump the skimmer was designed to be used with.
