substrate stirrers that don't get gravel everywhere?

Well, I hope u don't keep wrasses...conches might snack.

At one inch, narsious snails should do the trick...two cucs and u are more than covered.

I have several wrasses, so maybe a fighting conch is out. I'll see how the cucs do. Also, I have no hermits in this tank so Nassarius would probably be OK.

Sorry about your loss, Dave on sps..sucks! Glad u found out the cause, though. Any spelling errors, please disregard, I'm on my patio typing on my iPhone without my glasses, d'oh!

Edit: I have 24 Tongan and 24 regular in my 90...

Edit: 20 mini hermits and about 3-4 regular size only

Edit: If u ever restart sps, Vodka, gfo, and rox carbon is the way to go...FYI:

I don't see a conch killing anything, I havent done any research but observing mine it seems he is harmless. I have a large hermit and he will jump on the conchs back and peel its shell. Well he used to anyway he stoped some time ago. They move in super slow motion. I just don't see this happening. He is pretty skidish too. If you get near him he retreats in his shell like a turtle. i really love mine he is my fav invert in my tank. I don't view him as a treat to anything. He does have that big barb on his underside. I really don't understand how he could kill anything. I also don't get why they have the name fighting conch. I got mine at creation reef alomst a year ago. Dave go check one out before you condem them, they are very entertaining and quite intresting to watch.

read this, I really don't know Ralph but I'm really taken back that they might be fish eaters. I just don't see how after observing mine and the slow pace in which he moves. I'm doing research now and am quite intrequied by the accusation.

Edit: I don't know how the conch could fit anything like that in his mouth either lol

quoting that sight! "Keep in mind that the Fighting Conch has a voracious appetite; as such, supplemental feeding is required in smaller systems and recommended in even the largest aquarium setups.
Classified as an omnivore, the Fighting Conch will consume detritus from your aquarium substrate. Supply pieces of fresh fish and dried seaweed, as well as high quality frozen foods to supplement the diet of the Fighting Conch"

All the info I'm finding is that the fighting conchs are peacefull and are vegitarians, now some others may be different. King and Queen cochs can get huge and I think they can be aggresive toward other things. The fighting conch, is good to go!!!! Check for yourselves, And may I reiterate (sp) that these things are really a freakin cool addition to a tank. They also may be more suited to what you are really after Dave because they burrow deeper than most things. Sometimes mine will go missing and I can find him by looking at the bottom of my tank in my stand. I will find him sitting on the very bottom visible only through the glass. Hope this helps you out Dave I really think you would enjoy one.

Edit: yeah your right there, Its dead stuff though, a hermit will eat dead fish along with a snail, shrimp etc etc.

Thats cool Ralph, no worries here, If you could find out if it was really a fighting conch, or one of the other larger conchs like a king or a queen. That might clear up some things.

Just throwing this out there, but I have a 2 spot and christmas wrasse and a fighting conch in a 90 gallon. The Conch is a great addition to my tank. It does a good job cleaning the substrate and never disturbs my wrasses.
