sump light?

I asked the same question and mojo posted a link about melevs reef and the bulb he used I did the same the bulb came from wal mart and cost about 10 bucks also check out that thread pretty interesting

well i had a nice coralife fixture, but it broke.... befor i spend all that money on another one i was woundering if a regular light would do the same thing.

I have a 3 bulb, off brand, similar to a coralife with 9 watt bulbs. I only use 2 bulbs at a time and the light comes on the sump when the LED's come on in the DT.

+1. One tank has this, one has an 18" "normal" household flourescent with a "plant and aquarium" bulb. The 5500K outperforms that one as far as macro growth.

1+ I have a 75 gal fuge with 3 of these lights on it and the macro is loving it!!
I also have some mushrooms on some of the rocks in there and it's enough to keep them growing as well!!
