im going to be putting my sump together soon. i've got a 20g high that im trying to squeeze a BM NAC6, mag5, and small fuge in. the footprint of the NAC6 is about 11x7. i cant put the 11" length in the short edge of the 20g, which is 12". i will have about an inch or so between the intake of the pump and the glass, will this cause any problems? i could put it in length wise but that would cut down on my fuge compartment size. any input on this?

i cant go bigger with the sump. we designed the inside to hold a max of 24" long sump. if i could find something wider for cheap i'd go with that

you might consider not having refugium and freeing the space for the skimmer. I like the idea of having skimmer enough room since I have to clean it time to time... I pretty much put everything in my sump except for the fugium.. like heater and skimmer, uv, and soon to be tree reactor.... refugium is beneficial if you want to grow small crittles and use it to hold some fishes that need to be seperated from display tank and also biological filteration...(Im just using reactors for that)
either way.... if you do decide to go the route of having skimmer and refugium right next to each other... becareful with the turbulence/output from skimmer not creating the refugium to make mess... btw... 24" pretty long... ^^

I would like to throw some macro in there and use it for cultivating some pods. Im planning on the skimmer on one end, the five on the other then the return and heater in the middle. I'll try to mock it up with it in lOng ways and good from there

You might want to consider a smaller pump too. I've had issues with a mag3 in a 20H. Wish I had used a 20L....
