Has anyone tried this??
I am looking at upgrading my skimmer to a cone and this is the only one with a footprint small enough to fit in my sump.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered one.
Everything I have read about the octopus extreme cone has been very positive.
I will post updates after I get it

Someone on here had a huge one that they just picked up. I can't remember who but it was just recently they picked it up, maybe they will chime in. It looked awesome, I love the space saver design. Please give us updates in the future on what you think of the skimmer.

It was the only one that would fit in my sump lol.
Cost $100 more than the 2000.
I hope it was worth it

Just a side note, I carry the full line of Coralvue Octopus Skimmers. http://shop.keenreef.com/category.sc?categoryId=200">You can check the prices out here on my website.</a>

Thanks,
Tim

Wish I had known.
I would have just picked one up from you.

No biggie. I figured most people don't know what I carry. I am trying to increase my web business to offer what all the big stores do, i.e. Marine Depot, Aquacave, Fosters & Smith. :)

Thanks,
Tim

Well it is in my sump and going strong.
In less than 4 hours it has allready produced a nice dry foam and is skimming a lot better than my MRC skimmer was.
I have a feeling I am going to love this thing.
And Tim when I buy one for my next tank I will make sure to get it from you.
Your prices match the lowest prices I have seen on line

I don't have the cone of this, but I do have the SRO 5000sss...it's amazing, you'll be very happy with it!

I think you should take lots of pics of this skimmer from different angles and view points.

This thing is allready in my sump.
Hard to take decent pics in there.
With the cup it is about 26" tall and barely fits in a 8 1/2" space in my sump.
It looks exactly like the pics you see of it on line complete with red lettering.
Here is a link to a picture.
It is a work of art. And the bubble blaster pump produces more foam than you can imagine.

Nice buy, I just hooked up my External SRO XP2000. Your right, they are some foam producing machines! Get some pics up when you can.

Well after a few weeks now I can honestly say I love this thing.
Pretty much set it and never touch the settings again.
This thing did a better job of skimming during the break in period than my MRC skimmer would pull out in 2 weeks.
The only issue I have had with it is the cone is such a tight fight that it can be a bit difficult to remove for cleaning.
I can honestly say the next skimmer I buy will be another Super Reef Octopus cone.

Awesome man. I almost went for it, but I deemed it a little overkill for my current needs. I appreciate the opinion as I have a future 2nd build in mind and its larger than my current system - my life does not allow another tank at his moment, but when it does I am going for this skimmer for sure. (Do not let my wife see this post)

Glad to hear it perfoms well!

Tim, You do not happen to sell the metric size gate valve that fits the RO line do you? It is next to impossible to find. I know If you found and stocked them I would be there to pick one up! Like the site BTW.

Glad you're liking the skimmer! I too have a small space in my sump and had to go with a skimmer that has a pump on the inside :) really does allow you to put a pretty hefty skimmer in there with minimal space :)
