I had a nice gold maxi-mini carpet anemone that butted up face to face with just an ordinary mushroom (dark blue / red dots). The anemone was silverdollar sized and the mushroom nickel sized. The anemone is now a rank smelling bundle of flesh that is falling apart. The ugly mushroom looks fine. Luckily my purple maxi-mini on the same rock moved out of the way...

I agree but I witnessed it. They did not touch but for about 3 minutes but it was "face to face". It took me that long to take my shirt off (long sleeve) and rinse my hands off...

People sometimes forget that mushrooms are a sort of anemone and have potent chemical warfare abilities. I'm not surprised at all, really.

Darren, I'm sorry to hear that. Seems like the ugliest "mutt" usually wins the fight though.

So you are saying I am a winner? And all these years I believed my wife when she called me a loser.

Yeah not really surprised....I have yet to see something take down a mushroom...that's why I don't keep them.

Lee this is my only one and it may go to the sump. When I bought it from an online vendor (not an ARC sponsor) it was labeled a superman mushroom. Bright blue with blood red dots. I received it and it is a dark ugly blue and you can hardly see the pale red dots... Go figure huh...

lol. They def serve a purpose...I guess. Good for filtering for sure, the sump is def a good place.

I had a green mushroom lay over on a closed brain. Guess who won that battle...the sroom.

Last week I noticed my bubble tip trying to eat a mushroom I quickly removed it and the anemone survived

Back in the 70s I saw lots of brains get done in by mushrooms. :lol2:
