Ok, got home today to find half of my tank fine and the other half blue. I have a 72" 8-bulb Aquaticlife T5 fixture. As you probably figured out, only the two actinics one one side were working and the whites were out.

There are four rows of alternating white and blue. Each row consists of two 36" bulbs. The left side of the rows of whites is working. The whites and the blues (aka the alternating rows) are on separate built in timer controls that still appear to be working fine.

I've got my fingers crossed that this is something common and easily fixable. However, even if it's easy, I know absolutely nothing about light fixtures other than replacing bulbs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Put a known working bulb in a spot that's not working and see if it'll turn on. If not, it could be a ballast.

Should've mentioned that one of the two bulbs that went out simultaneously is less than 3 months old.

Wiggly the ballast wires. Tighten the end caps or what not. Could also take a volt meter to it
