T5 Lighting????

Remind me what the depth of that tank is. I think it would work, but I'm not sure if you'd need to keep it all near the top.

Its a standard Marineland Cube 18in deep, I'm sure I can keep them in the top half. I currently have a 150w MH pendant but I want to try T5's for color and temp.

I'm pretty sure it would work, but you may have trouble at the very bottom of the tank.

I have a month old T5 fixture for sell if interested. Its a Current USA Nova Extreme 24wats x 4. PM if interested

This is one of very few (if not the only) T-5 fixture sold in as small a size as that.

There are several other fixtures that size and they have much better reps then Nova...both ATI and Tek make 4 X 24" fixtures.

FWIW, I kept SPS under 3 24" T5. They grew and were plenty colorful. the 24" T5's don't perform like the larger 36 and 48 though. I had several burn out early even with a electronic ballast and active cooling.

its a month old and does perfectly fine for me and my coral seem to thrive. Im selling it because I have a bigger tank now. Im thinking selling it for 110. PM if interested, thanks

That is plenty of light...I have 4x48" over driven T5's on my 75 and SPS from top to bottom...auctually a bit much light at the top...I am running no daylight bulbs either just 2 aquafiji purple's and 2 aquablue's

I think you ll be fine near the top but like brian said, you will prob have issues lower in the tank...

I have a 4x24 T5 over a 10" deep frag tank, and IMO I'd want more. Some of the SPS are losing a little color (with 4 new bulbs).
