I am going from T5s to LEDs. I want to start a thread to show and document the tank and coral changes. Where do we want this thread to be placed. Members tanks, LEDs or Reef Discussion. It will have par reading and pictures with no other changes for sometime. Par and pics before change, after change, during accumulation and then every two months.
Is there any other data yall want.

Member Tanks is probably best for long running threads related to your tank.

If you like I can move this post to there and you can go on from there.

Be careful with this move. If you are running a quality T5 fixture and plan to swap to LED, then it will need to be a pretty dang good LED to match or exceed the t5. For instance, if you're running a powermodule and plan to swap to a MM LED... the results may be less favorable than you desire.

You may have already taken all this into account, so forgive me if you've already thought it through.

Just thinking out loud is all.

best of luck.

Mike hopefully the lights serve you well. I have been extremely happy with these. Power bill is grateful corals are doing pretty well too.

Edit: PS Lights are now dimmable :)

Thanks for fixing my Apex setup. Sorry I had to go to softball practice. You are the man Joseph. Reggie I love the lights so far. I hope I don't burn a lot of stuff . I am starting at 40% max and that is more that I had with the T5. Yes the bulbs needed to be replaced they were about 6 months old.

Call me when you want to fix the profiles I can run you through it in a couple minutes

be careful with the LED's, I switched one side of my tank from halide to LED and the other side from MM LED to a DIY cree build. I even bought one of those fancy par meters and made sure the par was very close to what it was before the switch. I ended up bleaching about 25% of my corals. My guess is that the spectrum change between the lights was the issue. So even though same par, in certain spectrums it was hugely more powerful. I also upped the lighting too fast, went about 5 to 10% a week but after about 4 weeks it was just too much too fast I think.
