Ok so 2 days ago I purchased some new corals, some zoa's and some palys. I acclimated for one hour and noticed when I was putting them in the tank they was kinda slimy but really didn't think much of it cause I have have had others feel the same way before. But as soon as I put them in all my corals closed up completely. I just figured it was because I was messing around on the tank but yesterday when the lights came on I noticed my yellow tang had a bulging eye and it was cloudy then it went to both eyes within a hour and all mushrooms and hammer corals where still closed up so I started checking everything out and everything looked good so I was thinking the new corals might of let off some toxins in my water so I done a water change . Today I noticed the tangs eyes are not bulging but has a cloudy film over both eyes and I was wondering will this fall off or what should I do ? He won't eat anything but I think it's because he really can't see the food because of the film . He is just staying put but it does look like the film is starting to peel off . Any help is greatly appreciated .

It sounds like palytoxin from the zoa's was likely released into the water. I would use activated carbon immediately, and do a large water change asap, if possible. I don't know about the tangs eyes though, as I have not experienced that. Good luck!

When my tank crashed, the remaining tangs had cloudy eyes and kevin noted it to be "velvet" disease. Not sure what the remedy is tho, but they went into his system with what im assuming to be a large uv and came out healthy. Go me...

I done a water change and using carbon . I turned my uv sterilizer off lastnight do you think it would help to run it also. Everything is starting to open back up so I think the water change helped out just not real sure what to do about the tang . thanks for the help

just noticed I have this in the for sale thread how do I move this to the right thread?

It looks like someone reported it, it should be moved soon, or merged with the duplicate thread you started.
